Don’t Miss a Diamond While Chasing Glitter

Sometimes people focus on the wrong things in relationships and in doing so – miss a blessing. If we are beholden to the ever elusive list of qualifications or rigidly rejecting any person who does not measure to your standards (notice I said your standard….not God’s standard), then we are not open to the possibility of someone who does not fit our mold. With this posture, we risk rejecting a gem because we could see past the exterior. We threaten settling for something that glitters, while missing that fact that it doesn’t have true shine illuminating from within. We miss the diamond because we couldn’t see past the coal. So, my challenge to you is to fully embrace the things that you desire in a mate….and then release that to God. Then, watch Him work because His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts.
