Making Provision to Guard Your Heart

20140916-234615.jpg

Proverbs 4:23 reminds us to guard our hearts…..but why? Because God knew that our heart (emotions, feelings, desires) could be contrary to His will at some point….Because our desire for relationship could sometimes cloud our judgement….Because He understood the fickle nature of the heart (He/she loves me…..Loves me not) and our eternal need to be rooted in truth and the power of His word. So, God gave us an explicit instruction – take care to guard (protect, defend against, fight for, cover) our heart…..because it is most precious. Don’t give it away too easily….but rather cherish it and watch over it.
